Italy records 26,231 sea arrivals through October 29

Italy's Interior Ministry records 26,231 migrant sea arrivals from January 1 through October 29, 2026, compared with 58,931 in the same period of 2025.

The ministry's October 29 dashboard reports 26,231 recorded sea arrivals through 08:00 that day. That was 32,700 fewer than the 58,931 recorded over the same span in 2025, a decline of about 55.5%. The comparable 2024 figure was 55,049.

Bangladesh was the largest declared nationality group, with 6,103 arrivals, or about 23.3% of the total. The dashboard also lists 3,420 Algerian, 2,939 Somali, 2,649 Eritrean, and 1,982 Sudanese nationals.

These figures describe recorded sea arrivals, not total immigration, asylum applications, legal labor migration, or Italy's foreign-resident population. Nationality is declared at landing, and the ministry notes that the data may be revised as identification and consolidation continue.
